Christmas Tree Decorations with the Wow Factor
If you are looking for to decorate your Christmas tree in a traditional manner however you don’t want to use tinsel and gaudy baubles, doves and beads are a beautiful way to achieve the ‘wow’ factor with your Christmas tree.
The key to decorating your Christmas tree with doves and beads is to attach the beads to the doves’ beaks so that they look like they are decorating the tree with beads. To do this, you will probably need to be able to suspend the birds from the ceiling.
You don’t have to stick with just beads either – a few doves can also be carrying tasteful Christmas ornaments with their feet to give a bit of variety and sparkle to the room.
To make your Christmas tree look extra special, add a bird nest filled with tiny decorative eggs (or possibly chocolate eggs).
Children love seeing the decorative doves on the Christmas tree and will love looking for the birds nest filled with yummy chocolates!
To make your dove Christmas tree decorations you will need:
- White thread
- Pins
- Strong Glue
- Doves
- Beads
- A couple of baubles (optional)
To hang the doves:
- Put a straight pin through the head of the dove. Tie thread firmly around the pin.
- Push a pin through the tail of the dove and tie thread around the pin.
- Attach the threads to the ceiling, adjusting the lengths of the string until the birds are in the correct position.
- Apply strong glue to the beads and baubles. For the strings of beads, it is nice to have a loose end of 5 of 6 beads hanging from the birds’ feet so apply the glue several beads in and not at the very end.
- Attach the decoration to the birds’ feet. Drape the beads over the Christmas tree.
And that’s it – a quick and easy way to create a traditional looking Christmas tree with the ‘Wow!’ factor.
